Established
in October, 1984, Greene-Hazel & Associates has set unprecedented
records for growth and accomplishment in the locally owned Independent
Agency arena. With a staff of
one, Tom Hazel and Theresa Greene Hazel started their operation from "scratch".
Tom and Theresa both had fifteen years of commercial, personal lines and
employee benefits insurance experience and had worked for both direct
writers of insurance as well as other independent agencies and brokers
.
It was time to step from the ranks of employee into the world of employer,
entrepreneur.
The local manager of the former USF&G Insurance Company provided Greene-Hazel with it's first company contract and the agency was off and running. In April 1985, they purchased General Insurance Agency, a $250,000 revenue business, that traced its roots to the Slappey Agency, which was established in the early 1900's. By the end of their first year of operation, the agency had revenues in excess of $500,000. The early 1990's were very busy as Greene-Hazel acquired yet another agency, Lee Davis Insurance, while maintaining a strong growth pattern through new business sales. Premium writings approached $20,000,000 and revenues exceeded $2,000,000. In 1992. At year end 2006, Greene-Hazel boasted a sales and service staff of 45 with premium writings exceeding $70 million. Having accomplished so much in such a short time, Tom and Theresa are working toward their long-term goal of becoming the largest locally owned Independent Agency in Northeast Florida. This will be accomplished by their dedication to hiring the most capable, technically proficient staff, giving back to their community through involvement in numerous non-profit charitable organizations and giving back to their industry through service as agency representatives on Insurance Company Agency Relations Boards.
Greene-Hazel recognizes
that none of their goals would have been accomplished without the strong
support of their client base. Their client loyalty and trust is the foundation
upon which they build for the future. |
