Theresa
hails from Mount Airy, North Carolina, better known as "Mayberry".
She is a graduate of Mount Airy Senior
High School and attended Western Carolina University. She began her insurance
career with Prudential Insurance Company in 1967 but soon moved from
the Health Insurance end of the industry into the Property and Casualty arena when she joined Liberty Mutual in 1969. Through her career advancement, she held positions with several local independent insurance agencies and prior to her departure to form Greene-Hazel & Associates, Inc. held the title of Vice President, Marketing for the Marsh & McLennan Jacksonville office.
Theresa also takes a very active interest in her community, having recently served as the Tournament Chairman for the 1999 Players Championship Golf Tournament and chairing the TPC Scholarship Committee. Theresa has been the recipient of numerous awards for her industry and work achievements; Recieved 2007 Insurance Professional of the Year, Recognized as 2004 Woman of Influence by Jacksonville Business Journal; 1999 recipient of the YWCA Tribute to Women Award; 1993 Finalist Florida Times Union Eve Award-Category Employment Achievement; 1989 Insurance Women of Northeast Florida Executive of the Year; 1982 Insurance Women of Jacksonville Education Award. She is a licensed Property and Casualty Agent as well as a licensed Surplus Lines Agent and holds both the Associate in Risk Management designation as well as Certified Professional Insurance Woman.Theresa and her husband, Tom, have four children, Kevin Greene, Chip Greene, Curtis Hazel, Angela Hazel Goldsmith, and six grandchildren.
